At the first go to the official Microsoft password reset page: Navigate to https://account.live.com/password/reset
then Select "I forgot my password" and click Next
then enter your email address, phone number, or Skype ID associated with your Microsoft account and click Next...
so after that Choose how to get your security code. Microsoft will send a verification code to the alternate email or phone number you have on file. Select your preferred method and follow the on-screen instructions
and Enter the code you received and click Next

then create your new password then all things well done!
